Smarter Space, Timeless Design

This kitchen didn’t need more square footage, it needed smarter design.
By rethinking the layout, opening key sightlines, and adding purposeful storage, this renovation completely changed how the homeowners use and experience their space.

One of the most impactful changes was reconfiguring and turning the island to better align with how the homeowners live and entertain. The new orientation creates a natural gathering place, improves circulation, and visually anchors the kitchen within the open floor plan. A custom wood finish adds warmth and contrast against the soft green cabinetry, making the island both functional and inviting.

To further open the home, we removed the existing bar that once separated the kitchen from the living area. Eliminating this visual and physical barrier allowed the spaces to connect seamlessly, creating a brighter, more spacious environment ideal for everyday living and entertaining.

Several structural elements were reworked to improve both aesthetics and storage. Walls surrounding the oven and refrigerator were removed and redesigned to create a cleaner, more integrated look while significantly increasing usable storage. In the pantry, custom cabinetry was thoughtfully built around the existing plumbing stack turning a constraint into a seamless, functional design feature.

We also opened the space beneath the staircase, turning what was previously unused square footage into valuable hidden storage. This addition helps keep the kitchen clutter-free while supporting the homeowners’ day-to-day needs.

Every design decision in this kitchen was guided by functionality, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal. The result is smart planning and beautiful materials that work together effortlessly.
