Read MoreWhen combating this kitchen, the biggest challenge was fulfilling all the family’s desires and needs in a more compact space. Regardless of the size though, we’re firm believers that #NothingOrdinary is always possible. To ensure that the space had enough storage yet still felt open, the designer added wrap around countertop. The subtle hues of grey add a moodiness to the space without feeling too heavy. One of the most show stopping parts of the kitchen is the elegant wallpaper seen throughout. Not only does it make the space more dynamic, it helps balance out the simplicity of the kitchen. Polished gold, seen in the lighting fixtures and outlining the range hood, elevates the space. The big windows allow for a connection between the surrounding nature and the space indoors. Read MoreBefore the master bath remodel, the space wasn’t satisfying the homeowner. The walls were covered in patterned blue wallpaper and beige tile. There was a large tub taking up most of the space and a long vanity down most of the wall. Since the bathroom style was far from what the homeowner liked, it was time for a new design journey. The biggest change was made to the entryway. Rather than walking right into the shower, you now get a stunning view of the tub. With a black glossy finish and brass accents, this bathtub speaks for itself. Geometric tile floor is seen throughout, which adds another design element to make the space dynamic. The beautiful deep green seen in the shower’s marble is reflected in the wainscot paneling. One of Owner Jenny’s favorite details is the patterned wallpaper. “It brings warmth into the black and white space,” Jenny said. “It takes someone who does this all the time, who sees these bathrooms and all the parts and pieces put together to help you make some of these bolder decisions.” The laundry room was moved to where a previous closet was. Not only did this allow for more space overall, […]
Read MoreFor this local family, the kitchen is their cornerstone. After a long day, everyone gathers to create and enjoy a meal together. In order to help reflect the special meaning they felt in this room, the family decided that a remodel was needed. To ensure enough space to come together, Owner Jenny added an island that is 2” taller than normal. The island needed to be multifunction as the kitchen is the place they cook, eat, do projects and wrap presents. The light fixture makes the room feel polished and delicate. Classic marble countertops add a sense of elegance and are paired perfectly with brass accents. Deep navy cabinetry contrasts against the crisp white in the marble, while bringing a calming effect. The range hood, featuring a refined pattern, is made of printed marble. This special detail makes the space feel unique and personalized. With several windows, the kitchen feels open and flows cohesively with the surrounding rooms. Beside the oven, you can find a window seat. It was incorporated to connect the kitchen workspace without changing the size of the original window. Each evening, the family’s twin girls sit here to watch their mom cook dinner. Details like this […]
Read MoreWith a long to-do list of projects around the house, the homeowners became overwhelmed and wanted to throw in the towel and move. After much convincing by their daughters, they decided on a complete remodel instead and called Karr Bick to help rescue them. When approaching Designer Wendy, the homeowners had clear insight on what they wanted. With Scandinavian family roots, the goal was to blend functionality and simplicity with natural beauty. Originally, the kitchen was dark and featured several hues of beige. After it’s transformation, this space feels like a breath of fresh air. The moonstone color blocked cabinets add a modern flair. The zellige backsplash, which wraps around the whole kitchen, provides interest and is complimented by dark features. Open wood shelving brings warmth to the kitchen but still rings true of the color theme. The fireplace, which served as the centerpiece of their living room, was completely outdated. The goal was to make the fireplace seem like it was meant to be. With a custom build, the fireplace now reflects simple and functional modernization. Accented blonde wood brings warmth to the space, while also connecting it to the surrounding rooms. In order to open up the space, […]
Read MoreAll of these spaces have one thing in common, they’re #NothingOrdinary. The homeowners of this old Tudor home felt they were in need of some modernization. In hopes to do this, the family decided they were ready for a new design adventure. What was once an existing closet soon turned into a wonderfully designed powder room. Upon entering, you’ll notice the polished brass vanity. The vanity itself stays true to the traditional manner of the house. To add touches of modernization, the sink’s faucet is found on the wall. These details are beautifully paired with tiled floors and walls. In the other bathrooms, you’ll find some of these same elements. The hall bath features a tiled wall behind the sink and a marble-effect countertop. The bordered tile floor plays with the traditional elements of the house, but is greatly modernized from its original form. Built-in cabinetry allows for greater storage without feeling invasive. The en suite bathroom has a walk-in shower, which can make any day feel more luxurious. The same color theme is carried into the bath to make all the rooms feel more harmonious. Lastly, the kitchen is one that could be found in anyone’s dreams. It’s clean […]
Read MoreOriginally, this space was split into two. On one side, you’d find a mirrored wall coupled with a bathtub that jetted out into the open. The other side had dark vanities that faced each other. To take full advantage of all the space, the transformation called for a readjustment of the amenities. By rearranging the bathroom, every square inch was used to its fullest capacity. The beautiful blue and marble brings a sophisticated look. The tiled shower gives off a clean and crisp look with gold fixtures. This gold is carried throughout the space, which gives it an element of warmth. In the beginning, this wasn’t a bathroom that one would want to spend too long in. Now though, there is a separate vanity made especially for spending time there. The printed cushion seat, optimal natural light, and mirrors are perfect for getting ready for a night out. Brilliantly designed by Wendy.

While these space’s original form were functionally sound, the homeowners didn’t get that sense of true representation. After their transformation, it felt like the missing piece to the puzzle had finally been found. Now, these spaces are polished and sophisticated. In the kitchen, you’ll find semi-distressed gray cabinetry, which helps keep the space feeling fresh. Marble countertops and a tiled backsplash that wraps around half of the kitchen pull out the cooling hues found in the cabinets. In contrast to all of this, the island showcases dark wood. This addition aids in the moodiness of the space. Since there is a seamless flow between the kitchen and surrounding rooms, this space feels meant to be. This bathroom is the ultimate relaxation station. The tub, which could make anyone feel like royalty, sits just in front of the windows. The same color theme seen in the kitchen carries into the bathroom, which brings the same sophisticated feeling. The high ceiling allowed for a beautiful chandelier making the space feel even more luxurious. Last, but certainly […]
