The Story & Challenge
A chaotic back entry and an outdated, unused kitchen desk area were wasting valuable footprint. The family needed a functional mudroom for daily drop-offs, better kitchen storage, and an attractive sightline from their main living space.

The Construction-Minded Solution
We eliminated the old walk-in pantry near the back door to construct a mudroom, relocating pantry storage directly into the kitchen to replace the desk. Consolidating the ovens into a range combo freed up wall space to relocate the refrigerator, turning a side bar area into a decorative focal point.

A dramatic custom-arched doorway framing the view into the back entryway, a hidden coffee “larder” cabinet with a warm, contrasting wood interior, and a rich natural wood island that adds warmth to the white cabinetry.
