JR Suite Bedroom

Part of a larger historic renovation overlooking Forest Park, this junior suite bedroom was designed to feel as though it had been lovingly collected over generations rather than decorated all at once.

The starting point was the homeowner’s grandmother’s antique bed, a beautiful piece with a family history worth preserving. We found a pair of petite antique nightstands that look as though they had always belonged beside it. The Venetian glass lamps, brought home from a trip to Italy, add another personal chapter to the room.

A richly patterned wallpaper wraps the walls, creating a warm, intimate backdrop for the antiques. Ready-made bedding with a sweet scalloped edge was paired with a custom duvet and accent pillows, proving that not everything in a beautifully designed room needs to be custom. It’s  knowing where to spend and where to mix that makes a room interesting.

The result feels personal, collected and comfortably at home in this grand old house. A room where family heirlooms and new discoveries feel like they’ve always belonged together.
