Red, White, and “Bluetiful”
June 4, 2024

With summer in full swing and the 4th of July just around the corner, we are gearing up for all things red, white, and blue, and hoping to inspire you with some fun patriotic design.
From tabletops to florals, we love all things patriotic. Vintage finds are particularly fun to incorporate into any space. Even modern spaces can stand a little vintage mix this time of year.
The Magical Patriotic Cottage
One special space that we love to revisit year after year is owner and lead designer Jenny’s magical summer cottage. Her mix of lovely new cottage-style pieces with incredible vintage patriotic art and curated finds just screams Independence Day. One great idea that you can try in your space is to drape vintage flags on walls or over tables. Use a variety of flags in buckets, or vases. Use hanging flags as a way to frame a door. Add vintage brass eagles and war memorabilia in different areas to create focal points. The great thing is that there are no set rules. Each vignette will be special in its own way.
- Flags are especially beautiful framing the door, and in the bucket.
- This vintage eagle creates a gorgeous focal point with the draped flag. Also notice the variety of pillows, as well as the vase with flags. Small touches really make an impact.
- Small red, white, and blue touches adorn the porch giving it a wonderful patriotic vibe
4th of July Florals
Another element that all of the designers at Karr Bick love to incorporate into their 4th of July holiday decor are patriotic florals. Using red, white, and blue florals is always lots of fun, or simply add flags to your indoor and outdoor arrangements. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you like. Here are some fun examples of how you can make those pots pop.
- Inexpensive burlap creates a base for this red, white, and blue table.
- Adding large inexpensive flags to this oversized vase really makes a statement.
- Flags and banners in vessels of varying heights combine to make this fireplace stand out. The added brass also makes it truly special.
- Vintage blue and white is always a good choice.
- Flags in outdoor planters are simple and festive.
- Non- traditional colors and vessels become patriotic with simple flags.

Patriotic Tables, Entryways, and Buffets
Don’t forget to adorn your tables, entryway, and buffets with a bit of Independance Day cheer as well. Nothing screams the 4th like walking into a festive entryway or living room. And your table can be the star of the show. Here are some examples of how to dress up your entryway, table or buffet for the holiday.

As the sun sets on your Independance Day celebrations, we hope that the day was filled with festive decor, wonderful food, family, friends, and most of all great love for our country and the freedoms we take for granted. Here are a few last shots that are particularly special to us. Cheers.
