A Layered Bathroom: Pattern, Craft, and Timeless Detail
This bathroom renovation focused on giving a previously simple space the same depth and character found throughout the rest of the home. With William Morris patterns used elsewhere, continuing that language here allowed the bathroom to feel cohesive rather than disconnected.
A warm wood vanity was designed with furniture-like detailing to bring richness and softness to the space. The mirror and lighting selections reinforce a tailored, vintage-inspired aesthetic that feels timeless without leaning overly traditional.
Green wainscoting was introduced to add architectural structure and visual weight, helping balance the patterned walls above. While each element plays an important role, the shower is the focal point of the room. Because it occupies a significant portion of the footprint, the tile design needed to feel intentional and elevated.
A Greek key border was incorporated across all three shower walls, transforming a classic tile into a graphic architectural feature. This level of detail requires careful planning and skilled execution, and it’s where experienced craftsmanship makes all the difference.
The result is a bathroom that feels layered, thoughtful, and fully integrated into the home’s overall design.
