Functional Kitchen Design The homeowners originally wanted to add an addition to the 100+ year old Webster Groves historic home. They didn’t think their current footprint had close to enough space to solve their steep challenges. The original kitchen was tiny, with a fireplace in it that extended throughout all three floors of the house. Rebekah’s solution, as their designer, was to remove the chimney and fireplace out of the whole house and utilize the exterior deck on the back of the house. She moved the powder bathroom to one side of the deck and created a mudroom on the other side. As a result, this allowed the new kitchen to double in size without the need for an addition. All their kitchen dream checklist items transformed to reality. The large Sub-Zero Wolf appliances fit the new design perfectly, including the wine column in the bar. Kitchen Remodel Beauty Rebekah works closely with homeowners to achieve aesthetic goals for the design. They took a British Humphrey Munson minimal approach.
