How to Have a Frightfully Good Halloween Party
October 25, 2020
As a day filled with all things dark, spooky, and haunted, Halloween is the perfect day for a witching party. Gather all your friends and family to enjoy and celebrate. In honor of Owner Jenny’s favorite holiday, we’ve compiled some of our favorite festive tips, table setting ideas, and a list of the items in our shopping carts.
Remember, it’s all just a bunch of hocus pocus!
Spider Ice Cubes:
A fun way to add spook to your drinks is to add fake spiders to your ice cubes. All you need to do is pop a spider in an ice cube tray and add water. Let them freeze, and pull them out right at party time. Little details like this make your party seem really thought out, when all you really did was make ice! Plus, the kids will go crazy for them! We’ve included the perfect spiders at the end of this post for purchase.
All Out Decorating:
Nothing is better than a well decorated party. Immediately upon arrival, you want your guests to be wowed. In addition, good decorating can really help set the scene for a good party. Your decorating can range from Doctor Hyde’s Lair to pumpkin park or to a harvest haven. Regardless of what your style is, get creative and have fun! To make things easier for you, we wrote a whole blog dedicated to get your Halloween inspiration going.
Mad Scientist Bar Station:
If you want to add a theatrical element to your party, dry ice is your best friend. You can add it to drinks, put it in your carved pumpkins, or even in a witch’s cauldron. It’s important to use it safely though! Read the following guide to get some great ideas and for instructions of proper use.
Costume Contest:
When it comes to Halloween costumes, your Karr Bick friends don’t mess around. Just this last year, Owner Jenny sported the ultimate Queen of Halloween costume! Not only was she in her element, but everyone else enjoyed it too. Get everyone else excited and involved by doing a costume contest. You can even make some fun prizes to give to your top winners. Maybe you want to get crafty with it and make the Academy Awards out of skeletons?
Spooky Food:
Not only do you want fun decorations, but having festive food too really takes your party to the next level. Come up with a ghostly menu that includes Halloween themed drinks, finger food, and sweets. Below, you’ll find a recipe that will do just the trick.
Juicy Brains Dip
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of Hamburger
- 1 tube of Sausage (Pork)
- 1 can of Rotel Tomatoes
- 1 can of Mushroom Soup
- 1 jar of Salsa
- 1 block of Velveeta Cheese
- Brown the hamburger and sausage
- Mix all the ingredients in a crock pot. It helps to cut the cheese into smaller pieces.
- Keep on a low heat in the crock pot or if you want to have “boiling brains”, put the temperature on HOT!
