Place setting decorated with red white and blue

Memorial Day weekend is coming up, which means it’s time for some relaxation and celebration. As we reflect and honor those who have fallen while serving our country, take time to spend with family, friends, and loved ones. Spend time outside, given that Mother Nature blesses us with blue skies and sunshine. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy it to the fullest! Below, you’ll find #NothingOrdinary advice on all things holiday weekend.

Entertaining Fun:
If your Memorial Day weekend includes hosting a gathering with friends and family, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve that will impress the crowd without too much trouble. For tablecloths, head to the fabric store. Not only is making your own tablecloths easy, but it’ll also give you more bang for your buck. To make your food stand out, get creative with presentation. Use nice platters for serving and mason jars for drinks. If people bring food over, transfer the dish into something more presentable than Tupperware. These tricks will help step up your entertaining game effortlessly.

Update Your Scenery:
Since you’ll hopefully be spending more time outside, update your scenery. This may involve getting down and dirty with the landscaping or switching out your patio furniture. While this sounds like a lot of work, it doesn’t have to be! Read our blog on creating the perfect outdoor setting for more information.

Bring on the Gingham:
While a gingham tablecloth can certainly work year round, it’s perfect for the warmer months. Not only does it provide a fun accent, but it’s also very fitting for the holiday weekend. Whether you use it as a tablecloth, throw pillows, or even in your outfit, get creative with it. Mixing and matching is always fun!

Repurpose Everything:
Just because you’re hosting a party, doesn’t mean that you need to break the bank getting all new decorations and entertaining essentials. Look around your home and see what you can use in a new way. Mason jars are fun to use as glasses for a rustic feel. If you have an old wheelbarrow laying around, use it as a cooler. Cake stands can be used to elevate drink dispensers.

A Festive Table Setting:
